Jr. Bellies Welcome NW Minor Lacrosse to Home Opener
The NW Jr. Salmonbellies opened their home schedule this past Sunday, May 5that Queen Park Arena. The Bellies welcome NW Minor Lacrosse players and parents as special guests for this game and all minor lacrosse players in jerseys enjoyed free admission as well as participating in a number of between periods and after game activities. Thoroughly entertaining the crowd between periods, were the Tykes and the always popular Mini-Tykes. For those young players, standing with the players for the national anthem and then actually playing in front of the crowd, was surely the highlight of their early lacrosse careers thus far! The Jr. Bellies would like to thank Shawna Goss, Troy Dickson, Pat Downey, Lisa Tessarolo, a whole large group of NW minor lacrosse parents who sold 50/50 tickets and helped with crowd control, as well as the entire Junior Bellies’ family for making the day a success. The only down news of the day was that our Jr. Bellies dropped a close decision to the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen 10-9. The Bellies are looking to rebound against the Delta IslandersTuesday May 7thand then comes the proverbial ‘huge’ game against the defending League and Minto Cup champions, the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacson Tuesday May 14th, 8:00 pm at Queens Park Arena.
